The Life Cycle of a Cult can be defined by distinct phases.

1. The Core Concept

A dominant personality or figureheads propose a revolutionary approach that promises a panacea for struggling players.

So here we are. They’re getting ready to storm the compound in Australia. The gunships are circling. Conflict emerges from the sidelines. A lone figure, exposed, shivering, the words HIGH RELEASE POINT written on his body in chicken blood, has come staggering through the lines and is removed with discretion towards an inconclusive loan stint elsewhere.

Remember the early days, when everything was fresh? The days of Bazball 1.0, of pure instinct.

2. Love-Bombing

Movement founders offer a reboot, optimism ahead, support, salvation among a group united in belief in the method.

How did it feel at first? Players celebrating feeling good. Tattoos. Muscles. Focus. Confident masculinity. Of course, The team will claim they don’t use the label, amusingly since it’s not recognized, what exactly did I just watch?

However, everyone understands its essence. It’s the batsman attempting a move so unconventional it defies description. It’s the excitement of the captain at his peak, a demeanor suggesting: thoughtful warrior, strong features, natural look, truly contemporary you almost imagine to notice and find him positioned on the ground shirtless embracing nature.

3. The Growth Phase

Or at least, the team has long been exclusive, a group, a garden party, a restricted environment with a long history of opaque and ritualistic cult history defining it. The players have been isolated within this world from a young age. Attempting to break free, to build a better atmosphere, they are mirroring their upbringing, creating another a bubble, a limited community, however with 15 cool guys and a mentor who wants you to be yourself provided you conform.
