The January transfer window proves to be a period of intense speculation and possible major moves. Several prominent stars find themselves connected to moves out of their present clubs. Here is a look at a selection of the key names that might be changing clubs this month.

A. Semenyo

Although Ghana's failure to reach the Africa Cup of Nations, which has kept the forward available, indications are an important move is imminent. The 25-year-old possesses a deal with a substantial buy-out clause active for a two-week window at the start of the month. Recent reports point to the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his services. Former interested parties like Chelsea and Tottenham are said to have moved on to alternative options, potentially opening the door for teams such as Liverpool or Manchester United to make a late move.

M. Guéhi

This England defender has continued to impress for Crystal Palace this season a previous transfer to Liverpool falling through. As his contract due to run out in the close season, this represents the London club's last opportunity to secure a transfer fee for their skipper. A host of top clubs, including Manchester City and multiple continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are believed to hold an interest. Brennan Johnson

This Wales winger has had starting opportunities limited at Spurs this campaign. Bournemouth are currently leading the chase, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also credited with an inquiry.

This Portuguese playmaker could be set for a return to the English top flight after a period in Saudi Arabia. Now only 28, and with his agreement ending in the summer, he is a possible bargain. Furthermore, there are rumours from Spanish media that he would be prepared to accept a reduced salary for a move to Real Madrid.

M. ter Stegen

The experienced German goalkeeper is now as third-choice at Barcelona following the coach Flick. After lost his place and had surgery, a January departure looks increasingly probable. Villa were once mentioned as a potential destination, but that option now appears off. Instead, clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are thought to be showing interest in the keeper.
